With Medaille’s Commencement Ceremonies on May 21, nearly 400 undergraduate students and over 800 graduate students joined the ranks of Medaille’s alumni base.

At the afternoon ceremony for graduate students in business, organizational leadership, psychology, mental health counseling, and education, Sundra L. Ryce ’07 MSED encouraged the audience to “break new ground in your chosen fields . . . [and] take the education that you’ve earned here to blaze new trails.” The graduate student speaker, Kathryn Benfanti ’10 MHC, offered, “Today, we are here to celebrate the building of bridges. . . Our differences are as much a cause for celebration as our similarities.”
For the evening ceremony for undergraduate students, NYS Sen. Antoine Thompson stated, “Don’t look at where we are today; look at where we will be in the future.” Shanena Brundage ’10 PSY inspired the audience with the statement, “We are all meant to succeed.”
With a brief break in the students’ walk across the stage, US Sen. Charles Schumer took to the podium, offering observations on the world in which the students will enter into, and a call to “Go for it!”
