Medaille’s School of Education has received full accreditation from the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) as of December 2009 for a period of five years, from December 11, 2009 to December 11, 2014. This formal review examined all undergraduate and graduate education programs offered within Medaille’s School of Education at its Amherst and Buffalo campuses. The positive result came from the efforts of faculty, staff and students who collected data, generated reports, and participated in TEAC interviews.
This accreditation certifies that the professional education programs at Medaille have provided evidence that the program adheres to TEAC’s quality principles of subject matter knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and caring teaching skills.
The School of Education at Medaille College offers initial certification in the bachelor of science in education programs of Early Childhood/Childhood Education (B-6); Adolescent Education (7-12) with Special Education; and initial and professional certification in the master of science in education programs of Adolescent Education (7-12); Elementary Education (1-6); Literacy (B-6 and/or 5-12); and Special Education (1-6 and/or 5-9).
The Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC), founded in 1997, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving academic degree programs for professional educators, those who will teach and lead in schools, pre-K through grade 12. TEAC’s goal is to support the preparation of competent, caring, and qualified professional educators.

Congratulations on receiving your TEAC accreditation. Lake Erie College is beginning its Inquiry Brief Proposal for TEAC. We are looking to our colleagues in other institutions to assist us in this task. Are you able to assist by sharing your report with Lake Erie College. Understanding that this is a model and not to be copied we would appreciate viewing a completed and approved Inquiry Brief proposal. Thank you for your assistance and once more congratulations!
