Thompson reviews book on school administration for Corwin Press

Jim Thompson
James Thompson, visiting instructor in the School of Education, has reviewed First Steps in Becoming a School Administrator: From the Classroom to the Principalship, for Corwin Press.
The audience for this book includes teachers contemplating becoming school administrators and current school administrators–especially principals and superintendents. Including concepts such as “Leap of Faith” and “One Foot In and One Foot Out”, the authors share a map for those wishing to take the journey of leadership in schools. Compelling quotes start each chapter and an important feature of the book are “Snapshots”….real-life scenarios that pose problems and challenges to reflect on.
This is his second review for Corwin Press, and Thompson will be presenting on the topic of growing school leaders at the National School Boards Convention in Chicago in April 2010.
