A Conversation with Sarah Vowell on November 4
Medaille College will host A Conversation with Sarah Vowell on Wednesday, November 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Campus, Kevin I. Sullivan Campus Center. A book signing event for students and the Buffalo community will take place from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Huber Hall Library.
Vowell is a nationally-recognized and acclaimed author of four bestselling books, and contributing editor for National Public Radio’s This American Life. The evening event is organized to support Medaille’s freshman reading program, which featured Vowell’s latest book, The Wordy Shipmates, as a summer reading selection. The Wordy Shipmates has been used by faculty within “Learning Community” classes, in which all first-year students are enrolled, to build upon themes of community and civic engagement and to connect students to the Buffalo community, the campus, and to each other.
The event is free and open to the public; seating is limited, and will be offered on first-come-first-serve basis to members of the local community once Medaille students and faculty have been seated. This event is co-sponsored by Medaille’s office for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and the Undergraduate Admissions.
