Medaille receives approval to offer dual accounting degree

Medaille College has received approval from the New York State Department of Education to offer a dual accounting degree. This 150-credit hour program will lead to a bachelor of science and a master of science degree, which will meet the current education requirements for graduates to be eligible for certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Internship opportunities and classroom education within the Accounting program will train students to provide services for private and public companies and government organizations, including auditing, accounting, tax, financial planning, forecasting, reporting, legal compliance, and budgeting. The program requirements include courses in management, marketing, finance, business law and management information systems.

In addition to providing the necessary coursework for satisfying the education component requirement for CPA and CMA certification, this program exposes the student to industry standards and technological applications that are crucial in maintaining a successful progressive career in accounting.
