Brad Hollingshead, Ph.D., associate dean for foundational learning and assessment, and Greg Florczak, vice president for enrollment management, have been invited to present at Noel-Levitz’s annual National Conference on Student Recruitment, Marketing, and Retention, to be held in San Antonio, Texas from July 21-23.
Dr. Hollingshead will present “Building Learning Communities for Student Success: The Pedagogy of Intentional Integration.” His report will show how learning communities, such as the ones at Medaille, not only have the potential to “impact retention positively and immediately” but also the capacity to promote “deep, meaningful learning.” The presentation will mainly take the retention benefits as a given and focus on the potential of learning communities to foster students’ academic success.
Florczak will present “How to Create a ‘Successful’ Student Retention Plan From the Ground Up,” giving an overview of how Medaille’s retention plan has led to a significant improvement in the retention rate of first-time freshmen.
