Medaille’s School of Education co-sponsored for Wheels Around the Park 2008: A Down Syndrome Awareness Event, on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Delaware Park. The Future Teacher’s Club and graduate students in the School of Education volunteered at the event.
Participants walked or “wheeled” around Ring Road to help celebrate National Down Syndrome Awareness month. Highlights of the day were: Buster Bison, the mascot of the Buffalo Bisons baseball team; Perrywinkle, the corporate mascot for Perry’s Ice Cream; games and kids activities; and a visit by Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.
