Lavatelli Completes Artist Residency at Rocky Neck Art Colony
Mark Lavatelli, professor of humanities, completes his term as artist-in-residence at the Rocky Neck Art Colony in Gloucester, Mass., on August 7. As one of four selected artists-in-residence for the 2008 session, Lavatelli will present the work he completed during his residency on Wednesday, August 6 at the Avery Mann Gallery in Gloucester at 7 p.m.
He previously held residencies at the Saltonstall Foundation in Ithaca and the Wurlitzer Foundation.
With a 150 year history, the Rocky Neck Art Colony is the oldest working art colony in the United States. The Colony supports artists and student artists with workshops, exhibitions and residencies.
