Medaille College Appoints Faculty and Staff to Leadership Team

Medaille College has announced the following appointments of current faculty and staff to newly-created leadership positions within the college.

Dr. Robert A. DiSibio will have an expanded role as Associate Dean for School of Adult and Graduate Education Enrollment. Dr. DiSibio will work to improve student services, especially in the Canadian Education Program, and manage the Student Teaching and Certification Office. He earned an Ed.D. from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania focusing on elementary education.

Brad HollingsheadDr. Brad Hollingshead will become the Associate Dean for Foundational Learning and Assessment as of July 1, 2008.

He will work to promote student success and retention among traditional undergraduate students, particularly within the first college year.

He has taught in the Humanities Department at Medaille since 2000. Dr. Hollingshead earned a Ph.D. and M.A. from Duquesne University.

Judy HorowitzDr. Judith M. Horowitz will add Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management to her title.

Currently, she is the Dean of the School of Adult and Graduate Education.

She will oversee initiatives that directly impact adult and graduate student satisfaction and retention, including student teaching placement and certification for the School of Education. Dr. Horowitz has a Ph.D. in Biopsychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Mary Ellen MulveyDr. Mary Ellen Mulvey will assume the role of Senior Director of Instructional Support and Community Partnerships.

She will be responsible for instructional support and disability services at Medaille’s campuses in Buffalo, Amherst and Rochester, serving undergraduate, graduate, and adult accelerated students.

Dr. Mulvey earned a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Michelle SchultzMichelle Schultz will become the Director of the Academic Skills Center, working to ensure that students who need academic support receive appropriate assistance.

As Director, she will supervise professional specialists and peer tutors, schedule developmental classes, and oversee mandated labs while communicating with faculty to make sure their needs are met.

Schultz has a master of science degree in Student Personnel Administration from Buffalo State College.

“Realigning existing staff resources will provide even more focused leadership in the areas of retention, graduation rates, and student satisfaction,” says Dr. Richard T. Jurasek, Medaille College President. “These appointments bring additional intentionality to our effort to promote student success, retention, and persistence in all populations.”
