Title Hope Ends for Lady Mavs

A remarkable four-year run came to an end on Saturday, March 9 as as the women’s basketball team fell to the University of Rochester 69-50 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

A shaky second half doomed Medaille as the Yellowjackets outscored them by 16 in the second stanza. It is the second time in three years that Rochester has ousted Medaille in the tournament’s second round. The loss ends the career of seven seniors, including a trio of seniors that changed the complexion of this program, as Marisa Clark (Hilton, NY/Hilton), Amanda Baker (Lyons, NY/Newark), and Amanda Walling (South New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley) saw their days in the blue and gold come to an end. They each played in all 112 games of their career. The team went a remarkable 95-17 over that span. The loss to Rochester ends Medaille’s season as they finish with a 26-3 record.
