Men’s Basketball Team Drops Thriller in AMCC Semifinals

The men’s basketball team saw its dream of an AMCC title fade away as they dropped a hard fought battle to Lake Erie College (71-66) in the second semifinal of the AMCC Tournament.

The Storm prevailed as they advance to the championship game against Penn State-Behrend. The Mavs had the ball, trailing by three points with ten seconds remaining, but a critical turnover led to two free throws that would put the game away for the Storm. The Mavs received strong play from senior James McNeil (Erie, PA/North West Collegiate) who matched a game high with 25 points and Keith Hack (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) who dropped in 17 points. The Mavs enjoyed their most successful season since 1998-99 as they currently stand at 15-12 on the year. They will await their postseason fate as the ECAC selections will be made on Monday, March 3.
