Mulvey Earns Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University at Buffalo

Mary Ellen MulveyMary Ellen Mulvey, director of the Academic Skills Center, has completed her Ph.D. in Educational Administration at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

She successfully presented her dissertation findings on the subject, “Framing the College Experience for Under-prepared Students: A Comparative Study Done in Three Four-year Institutions.”

This study examined the experiences of under-prepared students at three four-year colleges with different institutional orientations. She analyzed how institutionally funded and designed programs for under-prepared students and their student participants were understood within the different institutional contexts and, then, how the experiences of these students were affected by the policies and practices of the different institutions.
