Athletes of the Week: January 7, 2008
Marisa Clark (Sr. – Hilton, NY/Women’s Basketball) was named the MVP of the Florida Sunshine Shootout as the Lady Mavs had a 2-0 week. In two games she scored 29 points, pulled down 9 boards, dished out 8 assists, and came up with 6 steals. The Lady Mavs have won nine straight games and are 9-1 on the season.
In their only game of the week, a tough loss at NYU, Bill Gersitz (Jr. – Buffalo, NY/Men’s Basketball) led the Mavs with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Bill moved into 8th place on the all time scoring list as he now has 631 points in his career. The Mavs are 6-4 on the season.
