Prelude to Share Music, Art, Stories and Poems

Prelude

The Prelude, Medaille’s literary magazine, will host an evening of student art and performance on Thursday, November 15 at 7 p.m. in the Huber Hall library.

Students from other campus organizations will contribute to the event, with the Music and Drama Club providing a music soundtrack, and visual art from the Art and Photography Club. Students from WMCB-The Lizzard radio station, the Perspective student newspaper, and the Music and Drama Club, also plan to participate in the event.

An open mic session where members of the audience can read from their work will follow after the Preludians read from their poems and stories. Free food and beverages will be available.

Scheduled performers include:

Shawn Arrajj | Terri Borchers | Jessica Chadwick | Jocelyn Foster | Michelle Fritz | John Froncza | Antasia Johnson | Daniel Kolodziejski | Lori Markham | Trish Pantano | Molly Platt | Eric Richardson

Lori Markham, Prelude editor, says, “We are hoping to reach out to the Medaille community through artistic expression. We are working to include as many art forms as we can this year, with literature, visual art, and music . . . (this allows us) to work with the other groups on campus such as the Art and Photography club, the Media Department, and Medaille’s Music and Drama club. We’re very proud of the way this event has grown and developed in the very short time we’ve been working on it. Hopefully this will bring some well-deserved recognition to the extremely artistic and talented students and staff here at Medaille.”

The Prelude is advised by Dr. Terri K. Borchers, assistant professor of humanities. For more information, please contact Lori Markham, Prelude editor-in-chief, at medailleprelude@gmail.com.
