Men's Soccer

Medaille’s men’s soccer team clinched the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship on Saturday, October 20 with a 3-0 victory over Pitt-Greensburg. This is the team’s third consecutive AMCC regular season title.

The team that went 20-1-1 overall and 11-0 in AMCC conference play in 2006, and lost 5 players to graduation, four who were regional All-Americans, and two who were National All-Americans.

The team faced a tougher schedule than in either of the past two seasons. “We wanted to challenge our young players early, and see our strengths and weaknesses right away,” stated head coach Daniel J. Krzyzanowicz. The team started the season with 2006 PAC conference champion Bethany College, 2006 NCAA Final Four team Ohio Wesleyan, nationally ranked Capital University, and 2007 SUNYAC Champion Fredonia. Those four teams are competitive each year in their own conference and at the national level. “Coming away with two wins, one hard-fought loss to a very good Ohio Wesleyan team, and a tie to a very good Capital team left me feeling very good about what our young team could accomplish,” said Krzyzanowicz.

In the past three years the men’s soccer team has accumulated an overall record of 52 wins, four losses and five ties, with an AMCC conference record of 28-0-2 heading into the regular season finale Tuesday, October 23 at Lake Erie College. The team will have a bye for the first round of the AMCC conference play-offs and home field advantage in the semi-finals and finals. The semi-finals are scheduled for Wednesday, October 31 and, with a win, Medaille will be playing in the finals, Saturday, November 3.
