Erion Publishes Chapter in The Daily Show and Philosophy

Dr. Gerald Erion, assistant professor of humanities, wrote the lead-off chapter in the newest title in the Blackwell Philosophy and Pop Culture Series, The Daily Show and Philosophy.

Erion’s chapter, “Amusing Ourselves to Death with Television News: Jon Stewart, Neil Postman, and the Huxleyan Warning,” connects Stewart’s humor with the book that all Medaille’s first-year students read in their first-semester critical thinking seminar, Postman’s Amusing Ourselves to Death.

Erion has previously published on other intersections of philosophy and pop culture, including articles and book chapters dealing with South Park, The Matrix movie series, and The Simpsons.
